Timesheet Procedure

Whenever you work on an any temporary assignment for Absolute Recruitment UK Ltd, your Consultant will advise you how to log your hours when you reach the Client’s site.

Hours can be recorded in a number of ways; you might use a clock card system; you may need to sign in at the security lodge; or you might be required sign a daily register. Stick to whatever system you are told to use. For most contracts, we will issue your timesheet directly to the client. They will complete the timesheet and either fax or email the timesheet back to us.

Alternatively, some clients may ask us to supply you with a weekly timesheet, which you will need to get your supervisor to sign. You will need to return signed timesheets to Absolute’s office either in person to 20-22 High Street, Crewe, Cheshire, CW2 7BN, by fax on 01270 252 177, by email to payroll@absoluterecruitmentukltd.co.uk.

You can download weekly timesheets from our Downloads page or by clicking the link to the right.

Booking Holiday

Under our Contract for Services you’re entitled to 28 days' paid holiday per year. Your holiday entitlement starts accruing from the first day of your assignment.

You can check with our payroll department at any point how much holiday you have accrued. All holiday entitlement must be taken within the year in which it accrues and cannot be carried over to the following year.

As a general rule, you should give the agency twice as much notice as the holiday you wish to take. For example if you’re planning to take two days' holiday you must give us at least four working days’ notice. This gives us sufficient time to cover your position whilst you are away.

To book paid holidays simply complete a Holiday Request form (see Downloads). It needs to be countersigned by your workplace supervisor and returned to our Payroll Department giving the necessary notice. You can do this in a number of ways:

Post to: Payroll Department, Absolute Recruitment UK Ltd, 20-22 High Street, Crewe, Cheshire CW2 7BN

Fax to: 01270 252 177

Email to: payroll@absoluterecruitmentukltd.co.uk

Payroll

Absolute will pay your wages weekly on a Friday, one week in arrears. This is directly into your bank or building society account using the BACS system. Your payslip should arrive in the post on the same day.

Things to keep an eye on:

Changing bank/building society account details

Always inform us of changes using our Change of Personal Details form (which you can download here)

Timesheets

Always ensure that your timesheet is returned before midday on a Monday. On most contracts, temporary workers do not need individual timesheets (your Consultant will tell you prior to your assignment whether or not you need one). These Temporary Workers should keep a note of their own hours but needn’t submit a timesheet.

National Insurance contributions

We’re legally obliged to deduct National Insurance contributions from the proportion of your wages that is over and above the Government threshold. Please ensure that we have your correct National Insurance number (you can find this on an old payslip or your P45 from your previous employer).

Tax

To ensure that you do not pay too much tax, you will need to supply us with a P45 from your previous employer. If you cannot supply a P45, you will need to complete a P46 form. (you can download one here). If you are a student working during holiday time, you will need to complete a P38(s) (click here to download one now).

Payroll queries

Absolute’s payroll department is based at the Group Head Office in Crewe. If you have any queries, call 01270 509 266 Monday to Friday between 9.00am and 4.30pm. Alternatively, you can email your query by clicking here.

Availability

The best way to ensure that you are regularly offered work is to keep in touch with us.

You don’t necessarily have to call us every day, but check in once a week to let us know you are still available, either by calling the office on 01270 509 266 and asking for your name to be added to the list of available staff, or by dropping us an email to info@absoluterecruitmentukltd.co.uk.
