Absolute Recruitment UK Ltd joined pupils and staff at a local primary school to give a special send-off to two teachers from Tanzania who have spent a week in the UK learning from their Cheshire counterparts.

Wistaston Church Lane Primary School hosted a special assembly to celebrate its twinning with Mang'ula A School in Tanzania.

The guests of honour, Mr Hillary and Mr Justice from the Tanzanian school, enjoyed performances from the pupils and took part in a presentation on behalf of the business community led by Absolute Recruitment UK Ltd.

Head teacher Graham Prince said the special assembly was a celebration of the twinning between the schools and recognised the efforts of local people and businesses in raising more than £3,000 to support Mang'ula A School.

“Our assembly aimed to cement the relationship we have with Mang'ula A School – and a key part of that is recognising all the hard work of pupils, teaching staff and the local business community which has been fully committed to the project,” he said.

“Having teachers from Mang'ula School visit us has been incredibly exciting and pupils have talked about little else. The assembly was a great opportunity to show what they have learned about the Tanzanian culture and the similarities between themselves and pupils thousands of miles away.

“The visit has also allowed the teachers to visit our school as well as other ones in the area, to see different teaching practices and develop additional skills that they can take back and use in the classroom in Tanzania.”

Wistaston Church Lane Primary School twinned with Mang'ula School as a result of its involvement with Shavington charity Tanzed. It set itself a challenge to build a nursery and forged strong links with local businesses to raise the money.

Mr Prince said businesses such as Absolute Recruitment had risen to the challenge in donating money and it was important that their efforts were recognised in the special assembly.

“We couldn't have raised anywhere near the amount of money we did if it weren’t for local businesses – which is why we invited Jessica and Dan Marshall from Absolute Recruitment to make a presentation,” he said.

Jessica and Dan were delighted to attend the event and make a presentation to Mang'ula School on behalf of businesses in Crewe.

“Supporting Mang'ula School has been a groundbreaking project for Wistaston Church Lane Primary School and we have been proud to play our part,” said managing director Jessica.
