Scheme launched to help more Crewe people into work in 2012

A Crewe company has launched a scheme to help local people improve their chances of getting into employment in 2012.

Absolute Recruitment is hosting a series of free workshops designed to develop key job seeking skills such as writing a CV, what to include in a covering letter and how to perform well in interview.

The company will be hosting weekly sessions at its High Street offices in the town in a bid to improve some of the basic job hunting skills.

Absolute Recruitment’s managing director, Jessica Marshall, says that there are plenty of employment opportunities right across South Cheshire but competition for those vacancies is fierce and job seekers need every advantage they can get.

“In our experience people looking for work can significantly increase their chances of securing employment if they can demonstrate the basic key skills which impress potential employers,” said Jessica.

“We already offer coaching for people who are registered with us for both temporary and permanent positions but we want to open this up and hit on the idea of holding these free workshops for anyone in Crewe who wants to improve their job prospects.

“In our position as recruitment specialists we have a wealth of advice, hints and tips that we are happy to pass on. The sessions will be organised by our resident job doctor Fiona Welch who will offer one-to-one support which will include giving people valuable time using a computer and they can take away their CVs and covering letters away with them on a disc.”

Absolute Recruitment will be hosting sessions which will focus on topics including:

• How to write a CV

• How to draft a covering letter

• How to fill out an application form effectively

• How to sell yourself at an interview

• What employers are looking for

Mrs Marshall added that the New Year is a great time to launch the initiative as there are plenty of job seekers who have made it a resolution to improve their employment prospects.

“As well as sharing lots of simple ideas which can make a big difference to the way job seekers go about applying for a position, I’d like to think Absolute Recruitment is very good at being supportive and offer plenty of support and encouragement,” added Jessica.

“Initiatives like this are vital if we are going to help the business community in the region remain competitive in difficult economic times – and a key component of this is people eager to prove they have the ability to develop new skills as this is a trait which is very encouraging for employers.”

Absolute will host sessions and it’s advisable to book your place by calling 01270 509266.
